The quality of a workplace environment is a key consideration to promote productivity, creativity and to attract and retain the best people. Wurth recognised this and a design was delivered that incorporates individual and group working spaces, break out spaces, meeting space and a reception gallery area that displays the electrical components the company design, manufacture and sell. Different functions within the same floor plate are defined through the use of varying finishes and ceiling heights. The usual office hierarchy is eschewed in favour of a free-flowing series of volumes which are laid out to provide a virtually doorless plan that creates both openness and privacy without forming barriers to communication through the ranks.
