New residential scheme comprising family dwellings and apartments, Droylsden
Victoria Mill is a 1.2 Hectare brownfield site located within Droylsden town centre, approximately four miles east of Manchester city centre. The mixed use proposals comprise of 131no. new dwellings, commercial/retail space and new community space set across 14no. development blocks. The residential accommodation is a mix of one and two bedroom apartments, two bedroom maisonettes and two, three and four bedroom townhouses.
Responding to its location adjacent to the Fairfield Conservation Area, the approach to the design and layout has been conceived with the view of creating an urban village, reminiscent of the character of the nearby Moravian Settlement whilst also acknowledging the industrial heritage of the site and the wider area. A new public square forms the focal point of the development whilst a new public playground also contributes to the new community facilities.
